Follow the path all the way to the third Picklejar Lake for the best views. This steep hike requires the use of hands to steady you on the way up to Opal Ridge, however the views from the top are spectacular. Hiking boots are a must, we did it without poles but they would be helpful. It is dry and so a little slippy with rocks and dirt. The trail condition was very good and only a few places were a little bit slippery due to loose sand. The Sibbald Flats interpretive trail travels around Sibbald Lake and includes many educational signs. Still wet in the spring but a nice easy hike accessible to most.
